20 Weeks!!!

Woo hoo! I am officially 20 weeks!... even though I've been telling people that all New Years. haha! Well close enough. And yes.. I am showing, but part of me feels like I'm still just gaining weight. I guess because my belly still isn't all hard and perfectly round. Hmmm... maybe I just carry differently. Who knows.


Anyway, here's the 20 weeks picture from babycenter.com. It's so exciting! It's becoming more and more real every week. Here's the excerpt:


Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom, and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, we use measurements taken from the top of the baby's head to her bottom — known as the "crown to rump" measurement. After that, we use measurements from head to toe. This is because a baby's legs are curled up against her torso during the first half of pregnancy and are very hard to measure.)


A greasy white substance called vernix caseosa coats her entire body to protect her skin during its long submersion in amniotic fluid. (This slick coating also eases the journey down the birth canal.)


Your baby is swallowing more, which is good practice for her digestive system. She's also producing meconium, a black, sticky substance that's the result of cell loss, digestive secretion, and swallowed amniotic fluid. This meconium will accumulate in her bowels, and you'll see it in her first messy diaper (although a few babies pass it in utero or during delivery).

I really should get a picture of me up here with me showing. So much for the idea of taking a picture every month. That idea got shot to hell. I really wanted to do it, but I kept forgetting and it's weird when you don't show for so long and then one day you just look fatter (not pregnant) and your supposed to take a picture of that? hahahaha! Anyway. It would have been nice still, I guess, to see that kind of change.



Well my goal this year is to ORAGNIZE and keep our home tidy in preparation for Bagel! I heard Home Depot is having an organization sale... I may check that out. I also want to cook more (therefore grocery shop more regularly) AND invest in a few more maternity shirts. Some of the bigger t-shirts I have fit... WIDTH wise but are getting short. hahaha! Junior laughed at me. :( But it was funny, so I laughed too. oh yeah, and we're going to start buying diapers, wipes and that other stuff little by little everytime we go grocery shopping. Start stocking up.


My brother and sis in law gave us some baby stuff they didn't need anymore. WOO HOO!!! Let me say I am SO in favor of hand me downs! It's cost efficient and babies grow out of everything so fast. So if anyone has stuff they want to get rid of, send 'em my way!
